Reading and Phonics:

Daily Reading

Set aside time for your child to read for at least 10 minutes each day.

Set aside time to read a story or to discuss books with your child each day.

Handwriting

Daily handwriting. Encourage your child to take their time, to ensure that the writing is neat.

The sheets ask the children to trace over the written words to practise the correct joins. Ensure that your child has the correct writing grip.

You could also practise in the sandpit, a plate of flour, with some runny paint, or rainbow writing.

Maths:

Sent home will be 5 Maths Family learning sheets.

Use a double page spread in your books for each of the challenges.

 

Play a board game or computer game to practise your counting skills.
