During the year, the children have immersed themselves in different aspects of humanities through a variety of Learning Journeys. In both History and Geography, we have focused on the use of high quality, engaging resources and artefacts to allow children to develop their historical and geographical enquiry skills.

Through the Learning Journeys ‘Leading the Way’ and ‘The Day in the Life of…’ the children have developed their understanding of influential historical figures and a range of time periods. In the Spring term, Year 1 enjoyed learning about famous explorers through time such as Columbus and Armstrong whereas Year 3 focused on great leaders such as Gandhi and Mother Teresa. Other classes explored historical events through different people’s lives.

Next year, we will continue to develop our historical and geographical enquiry skills through further exciting Learning Journeys, outdoor learning opportunities and school trips.
