School Council
Following the British system of democracy, each class elected a representative for our School Council. We had to first give a presentation of why we wanted the role and the character strengths we have that would be helpful.
This school year, we have organised a book swap, sent summer clothing to our link school in The Gambia and raised money for Children in Need by holding a non-uniform day.
Paula Baker from Heads Up has worked with us, training us to be a team of young Mental Health Ambassadors. We have learned about the importance of looking after our own mental health and supporting others. We are now more able to recognise our emotions and have strategies for self-regulation. We have learned how help each other through everyday life. We are organising craft clubs for our friends to attend and talk with us, as well as creating opportunities to support our classmates in the quiet areas we are creating around our school.
